The City of Aurora, CO is seeking a Deputy Director of Recreation Services. The new Deputy Director will provide vision and leadership to support a successful and high-performing recreation and golf organization. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned, politically astute, and business-minded leader who will have an opportunity to focus on several initiatives including developing an effective working relationship with the City Council, enhancing the financial stability of the organization including finding ways to monetize programs, and engaging with the department and staff to evaluate and improve facilities, programs, policies, and services.  This role is responsible for overseeing the activities of the City of Aurora recreation facilities and programs including five recreation centers, six outdoor pools, a center for older adults, two community centers, five golf club courses and related facilities, and recreation programs including preschools, aquatics, sports, special events, adaptive recreation services, services for older adults, and Citywide special events. Reporting to the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space, the Deputy Director supervises 3 direct reports including two Recreation Managers and the Manager of Golf, and approximately 140 Full-time employee and 500 plus seasonal employees. This is an executive leadership position requiring a business focus and the ability to generate innovative and revenue generating ideas.

Salary: $112,490 - $175,760
