Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is seeking a Planning Director. In this role, the Planning Director directs and manages the planning activities required by RTC’s Metropolitan Planning Organization designation. The Planning Director will oversee all operations of the Planning department including planning project and contract management, community outreach related to planning efforts, and grant application development; oversee development of the federally required Regional Transportation Plan which is currently being updated; plan and manage resource allocations and department budget; ensure efficient operations and sound fiscal practices. The ideal candidate focuses on outcomes and is a leader who understands and can work effectively in a structured/process driven work environment. They will demonstrate subject matter expertise in applying planning processes to policy formulation, as well as clarity in identifying project purpose and need.
