Sierra County is seeking to fill a Financial Officer position. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, effective communicator who is able to build solid working relationships with management, peers, and staff, and will possess the interpersonal skills and professional demeanor necessary to effectively supervise staff.

Reporting to the Director of Health and Human Services, the Financial Officer manages, coordinates, and directs the work of three professional and technical support staff responsible for general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, State claims, State and Federal reports, audits, and related accounting functions for Behavioral Health, Health and Social Services. In addition to day-to-day supervision of staff in a variety of Behavioral Health, Health and Social Services accounting and financial support functions, work involves the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring overall service effectiveness in area of responsibility. This position is also tasked with completing the more complicated and technical work in the office.
