Marin County Free Library is seeking a Director of County Library Services. Candidates who apply for this position should enjoy working with an engaged, supportive community. The last library tax measure passed with over 75% resident approval. This position offers an opportunity for innovative cross-department collaboration with Cultural Services in park settings as well as the chance to work with County municipalities. The successful candidate will be joining a group of staff experts dedicated to keeping the County a high-performing organization. MCFL currently has 197 full time employees as well as 107.43 budgeted positions for part-time and contingent/temporary staff members. The 20/21 revenue budget is projected at $17.5 million.
Serving as the administrative leader of the Library System, the MCFL Director ensures the smooth delivery of library services throughout the County. The incumbent acts as the departmental chief executive officer and is accountable for accomplishing departmental goals and objectives within general policy guidelines established by the Library Commission and the Board of Supervisors. In addition, the Director is expected to provide a leadership role within the library, the community, and the library profession.
