Stanislaus County is seeking a Director of Environmental Resources. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader and a skilled professional who introduces creative strategies and approaches to the Department and the County. They will be committed to improving performance implement effective solutions to the most pressing issues facing the Department and County. This person will be approachable, demonstrate emotional intelligence, and be an open communicator who is committed to mentoring and developing the professional capacity of the department staff. The Director will be a strategic business partner with a customer and solution-oriented mindset, drive results, and help set and achieve challenging goals for the department. The Director will also be a strong relationship builder and have a collaborative spirit in working with community partners, other regulatory agencies, other County Department Heads, the County Chief Executive Office, and the Board of Supervisors.
The ideal candidate will have significant management experience in a diverse and complex organization. This position requires an experienced leader of people who values the expertise and capabilities of their department heads and strongly believes in teambuilding and working collaboratively. The successful candidate will be eager to understand and get to know all facets of the Stanislaus County community for which the Department provides services.
