The County of Monterey is seeking an Assistant Director of Social Services. The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the various branches of the Social Services Department; acts in the absence of the Director; and performs other duties as required. The ideal candidate will be a strong, seasoned social services professional who brings the ability to work collaboratively with the senior management team, staff, and stakeholders. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are paramount. Those with a background in organizational development, finance, contracts, policies, reporting and staff development can best assist the Director with the internal communications and operations of the department. Applicants should have the capacity to build organizational savvy and work through barriers with multiple stakeholders; and, have a proven track record of implementing solutions to balance competing priorities while maintaining stability, as well as, fostering a spirit of collaboration and teamwork.
