The City of Evanston is seeking an ethical, dedicated City Manager who embraces transparency, equity, and open government. The City Manager is the Chief Executive Officer of the City and is responsible for the management of all city operations. The ideal candidate will be visible in the community and be an open, honest, engaged communicator willing to; be available to the Council, community, and active stakeholders; embrace innovative strategies to provide an array of municipal services while dealing with the realities of municipal budget constraints; be adept at building consensus and working cooperatively with the City Council, residents, businesses, community groups, and other governmental agencies; demonstrate experience with a strong commitment to sustainability; and help the City maintain focus in order to accomplish meaningful change and not lose momentum, despite having various priorities.
