Development Services Director
City of Oklahoma City

The City of Oklahoma City serves approximately 681,054 residents in a four (4) county, 621 square mile area. Twenty-two (22) City departments provide a wide array of municipal services and programs. Additionally, municipal trusts play a significant role in the operations of major facilities and services.

The city is recruiting for a Director of Development Services that will direct and coordinate the department’s mission of providing animal welfare, code enforcement, construction permitting and inspections, licensing, and development application review services to the development community and general public so they can receive timely development decisions and live in a clean, safe and stable City.

The Development Services Department is comprised of four divisions that include Animal Welfare, Code Enforcement, the Development Center, and Subdivision and Zoning Program, with approximately 190 full-time employees and an annual departmental operating budget of $21,308,954. 

The department is an integral part of many facets of the growing Oklahoma City community and stives to improve and enhance customer service delivery, professionalism, efficiency, consistency in business practices, and developing a positive workplace culture.  The ideal candidate is a visionary leader, creative thinker, problem-solver, partnership builder, and someone who possesses exceptional analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. 

Candidates shall have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.  Minimum of five (5) years of experience with an organization of similar size or complexity as the City of Oklahoma City.

Salary: Salary is dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
