Jackson County is seeking a Health and Human Services Director. The Health and Human Services Director plans, organizes, and directs the provision of services including Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, Public Health and Environmental Public Health services, Animal Control, and Veterans Services in Jackson County. The Director manages operations to achieve goals within budgeted funds and available personnel. In the current year the budget has 202.50 FTE in the Department. The total Departmental budget is $45.4 million. The Director reports directly to the County Administrator. The next Health and Human Services Director will be an engaging leader with integrity and commitment to the Department’s mission to provide public services that protect and promote the health and well-being of Jackson County residents, with a priority to serve the community’s most vulnerable populations. These leadership qualities will include a proven capacity to build and mentor staff to meet a diverse range of program and service delivery goals that exemplify the department’s mission. As one of the largest departments in the County, the Director will interact with and will influence a complex array of internal to the County, community, and statewide stakeholders and will balance programmatic goals and organizational capacity with community needs, regulatory requirements, and funding constraints.
