First 5 California is seeking an Executive Director! The Executive Director will oversee the implementation of First 5 California Equity Principles, represent the Commission’s goals, programs, and philosophy to the media, the Legislature, the Governor, statewide organizations, and national organizations, maintain a high level of public visibility for the work of the Commission, provide credible statewide leadership, and garner widespread support for programs and policies for young children and their families in the areas of health, education, child care, child development, social services, and community awareness, while having outstanding and trustworthy communications with the Commission and its advisory committees in compliance with the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act. The new Executive Director should be an outstanding spokesperson, personable, fair, and lead by example with integrity. Being able to prioritize the most important issues and execute the initiatives as well as demonstrating the ability to create and maintain strong partnerships and have excellent communication with elected officials, and state agencies involved in early childhood development and family support would also be a mark of success. A trustworthy visionary who is creative and entrepreneurial are valued qualities.

Salary: The maximum salary is $185,604
