Police Chief
City of Livingston

The City of Livingston is seeking a Police Chief.  This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in the leadership of this California community rich in history, culture, and diversity. The Livingston Police Department has the responsibility of preserving the peace, responding to law enforcement requests, and protecting life and property within the city limits. Under the direction of the City Manager, the Chief of Police plans directs, manages, and oversees the activities and operations of the department; coordinates assigned activities with other City departments and outside agencies; builds and maintains relationships with the community utilizing the principles of community policing; provides expert assistance to the City Council, City Manager and others; and performs duties as assigned. The Chief of Police will build upon the Police Department’s foundation of teamwork, community connection and common purpose and advance the department toward higher use of community policing, data-driven decision-making, and innovative practices. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and a proven track record in law enforcement. Candidates who have experience in a jurisdiction of similar makeup and complexities will be favorably considered.

Salary: $120,636 - $146,640
