Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority is seeking a Chief People Officer. The Chief People Officer will embody and exemplify the core principles of the agency, serving as a people-centric leader internally and an ambassador externally. We are looking for someone who operates with strong analytical thinking and an informed point of view, desire to innovate, deep empathy, exceptional integrity, and a genuine desire to empower and better the professional lives of the team and our passengers. This person will partner with executive leadership to scale a world-class culture and successfully implement strategic and innovative human capital solutions supporting business growth and transformation. The new Chief People Officer will serve as a strong partner to the executive leaders in developing goals and strategies that increase the impact of our people across the organization. They should have a proven ability to drive achievement against VTA’s core people metrics, including growth, employee engagement, and retention. The successful candidate will serve as an evangelist for public service, advocating a “customer’s perspective” through all facets of human resources. This person will also need empathy, understanding, and patience to be successful in this role.
