The City of Englewood is searching for a City of Engineer! 

The City Engineer provides leadership and direction to the engineering division of the Public Works department to deliver capital projects, up-to-date engineering standards and details, timely and comprehensive development review, effective right-of-way permitting, inspection, and engineering support services. The position also participates as a member of the department management team and contributes to the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, and service standards.

The City Engineer performs professional level effort to actively manage the Public Works department’s capital improvement programs through planning, design, construction, and implementation; ensures conformance with City standards and processes to actively manage the public right-of-way through effective and timely permitting and development review; selects, manages and coordinates the work of consultants and engineers; provides input to design of public infrastructure; reviews and approves construction plans, specifications, details and contracts; identifies funding sources and cooperates with outside stakeholders to secure and develop creative capital funding sources; develops and maintains a 5-year capital improvement plan (CIP); and oversees the provision of project management and engineering support to other city departments and divisions.

The position is also responsible for overseeing and assigning the work of others, reviews job performance and evaluates training and professional development needs and develops goals and objectives for staff, ensures timely and relevant communication with all project stakeholders, resolves issues to ensure positive interactions with division staff, other departments, and outside entities, and works with governmental agencies, citizen groups, and industry representatives on projects and programs. The City Engineer oversees a staff of 13 including 5 direct reports that includes an Assistant City Engineer position.

Location: Englewood, Colorado
Salary: $96,982 – $130,925
