Assistant Director, Department of Public Social Services
County of Riverside, CA

The County of Riverside is seeking an Assistant Director for their Department of Public Social Services (DPSS). The Assistant Director will occupy a key role on the DPSS Executive Team and will lead mission critical operational support projects to strengthen the department’s internal and external services. The position is responsible for facilities, planning, technology, infrastructure, service contracts and other operational needs. The Assistant Director shall be responsible for approximately 300 subordinate staff.

In addition to directing operations and providing management direction for staff, the Assistant Director also plays a critical role in maintaining ongoing communication and collaboration with key stakeholders who represent DPSS in contacts with other governmental agencies and community groups and will collaborate with partner agencies to further the Department’s goals.

Further, the position enforces federal, State, and local laws and ordinances relating to DPSS; identifies problem areas and develops resolution and enhancements to operational challenges; monitors, evaluates and recommends methods for improving the efficiency of services provided; prepares and submits the program budget.

DPSS is seeking a progressive and agile leader to serve as its Assistant Director, Administrative Services reporting directly to the Managing Director of Public Social Services.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of executive experience equivalent to a Deputy Director role, their vast knowledge of managing a more than 100 employee division and directing a large organization’s program operations and logistics will contribute to the success of the Department.

Salary: $129,634 – $219,195
