City of San Jose is seeking an Industrial Safety Officer. The Industrial Safety Officer will be responsible for administering the Occupational Health and Safety Program to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The incumbent will provide expertise and experience with industrial safety programs including, but not limited to, lock out tag out (LOTO), confined space entry, machinery safety, fall protection, hazardous materials, and other industrial safety program elements; and experience interpreting and implementing occupational health and safety regulations in an industrial/manufacturing setting. The selected candidate will ensure that all related policies, procedures, and programs are disseminated, understood, and practiced by all employees, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders. Additionally, fostering a collaborative culture of safety is essential, so the Industrial Safety Officer will attend or lead appropriate meetings, communicate regularly with management, and safety representatives on work progress and activities.
