Johnson County is seeking a Director of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will have an organizational strategy mindset with HR generalist knowledge and a change management background, able to evaluate current processes and identify areas needing growth and consistency. The director will utilize their deep understanding of human resources and data analytics and research on best practices to support staff in upholding the county’s goals of being a high-performance organization. The ideal candidate will have a servant-leadership style and a customer-service mindset, utilizing excellent communication skills to work towards solutions with departments and staff. They will be a strong leader who successfully develops staff skills and maintains a healthy culture in a hybrid work environment. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in human resources management, industrial relations, public administration, or a closely related field and 10 years of increasingly responsible work experience human resources experience, including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility, is required. A master’s degree with major coursework in human resources management and IPMA-HR, HRCI, SHRM, or similar certification is preferred.
