Las Vegas Valley Water District is seeking a Director of Risk Management. The Director of Risk Management is responsible for planning, directing, and managing a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management and loss control program for the Las Vegas Valley Water District (District), the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), Las Vegas Springs Preserve, and Big Bend Water District (BBWD). Serving as a member of the leadership team, the Director provides expert advice on enterprise risk management and loss control issues and strategies; evaluates programs and risk exposures; recommends enterprise-wide approaches and initiatives; manages the operations and policies of the District; develops, manages, and administers the District’s captive insurer, LVVWD CI, LLC, and other specialized insurance programs; ensures compliance with legal requirements; and manages and oversees the administration of claims. The District is seeking an outstanding leader with a strategic mindset who possesses expert knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and methodologies. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in risk management, be able to lead the department with confidence, possess familiarity with captive insurance, and have experience with enterprise-wide risk management.
