SCADA Engineer
City of Aurora

Aurora Water is responsible for providing life sustaining services to the residents, visitors, and businesses of Aurora. We plan, design, operate and maintain the drinking water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems throughout the City.  Our major infrastructure includes three potable water treatment facilities (totaling over 200 million gallons per day), a reclaimed water treatment facility and over three dozen pump stations, lift stations and major PRVs. Aurora Water’s mission is to enhance and protect the quality of life for Aurora citizens by providing safe, dependable, and sustainable water, sewer, and stormwater services, today and in the future. 

The SCADA Project Engineer position will support the SCADA Senior Engineer to provide subject matter expertise and implementation on SCADA related projects including treatment plants, pump stations, PRVs and other remotely controlled and monitored facilities in the department.  Provide high-level skilled and technical field services for capital projects with Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, network systems, radio systems, motor control equipment, security, and electrical systems. This position is eligible for a signing bonus, along with the opportunity for a remote/hybrid schedule for candidates that live within the Aurora/Greater Denver area.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a directly related field; at least four (4) years of related experience in designing, programming of PLC's, and/or performing FATs / SATs for industrial SCADA systems; four (4) years demonstrated engineering experience with instrumentation and controls, HMI, systems integration, industrial electronics, industrial computer systems, PLC's, or intelligent distributed controls preferred; experience in a customer support role with direct customer interaction preferred; experience with water or wastewater chemical processes, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and hydraulics preferred.  It is preferred, but not required, that candidates are registered as Professional Engineer (PE) with the State of Colorado or ability to obtain through reciprocity from another state within 6 months of employment.  An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. * New employees are eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus; with $2,500 paid on the first pay period, and $2,500 paid upon successful completion of the 6-month introductory period.
