County of Humboldt is seeking a County Counsel. The County Counsel will demonstrate leadership experience to represent Humboldt County at the local, state, and national levels by collaborating with stakeholders, as well as internally with county executive leaders and staff, while demonstrating organizational acumen, political awareness and understanding of regional history. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in building a public-sector legal team that provides career opportunities for staff to make significant contributions to the organization and the community. Deep knowledge of land-use regulations and practices, human resource related laws and Public Law 280 will serve as an asset to the next County Counsel. The successful candidate will have a well-developed ability to be preceptive and intuitive, combined with strong communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion will be essential to the success of the next County Counsel.
