Deputy Executive Director for the Commission on Police Practices

City of San Diego is seeking a Deputy Executive Director for the Commission on Police Practices. The Deputy Executive Director coordinates direction and policy decisions in close collaboration with the Commission on Police Practices. The Deputy Executive Director performs complex professional administrative and managerial support, fosters cooperative relationships with commissioners, community groups, city officials and staff, intergovernmental agencies, and the San Diego Police Department; and other duties as assigned. The Deputy Executive Director is expected to be a seasoned executive who is comfortable making decisions and stepping in for the Executive Director when necessary and working with diverse communities in San Diego. The diverse communities may include but not limited to LGBTQ+, mental illness, drug usage, immigrant communities, unhoused, faith, youth, and communities of color. The ideal candidate will be a solutions-focused, innovative, pro-active, and outgoing leader with recognized judgment, objectivity, and integrity with a commitment to achieving solutions and results.


Location: San Diego, California
Salary: $138,000 - $147,000
