Finance Officer
City of Safford

The City of Safford, AZ is seeking a Finance Officer. This position Reports directly to the City Manager, the Finance Officer manages the organization’s financial policies, operations, strategies, planning, budgeting, forecasts, and risks by providing financial leadership, coordinating with other departments, and monitoring financial conditions. Directs and oversees financial staff, including accounting, customer and field services, business services, and material management/purchasing. The ideal candidate will possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and be familiar with government accounting practices, financial policies, and budgets. The next Financial Officer will have strong leadership skills with a passion for employee development and strategic relationships. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in GASB and government accounting software such as Caselle. Along with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively during presentations to elected officials and collaborate with other department heads. Experience in financial management for utilities and rate forecasting will be an asset in this role.

Location: Safford, Arizona
Salary: $97,760.00 - $145,266.21
