The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) is seeking a Director of Contracts and Procurement Services. The Director is an agency leader who plans, directs, and manages a large procurement program along with a cohesive team of 20 dedicated staff members. The Director implements new and innovative strategies to support the agency’s unique procurement needs and delivers streamlined, efficient, and creative solutions in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will deliver changes that facilitate the success of internal customers in all phases of the procurement process. The Director will anticipate internal customers’ objectives, educate them on efficient avenues to achieve their goals, and coordinate support from the department to ensure ongoing compliance with a variety of regulations. The Director will be a trailblazer in this field, providing leadership for an innovative, ‘state of the art’ procurement program. As a visionary, the Director will be able to see beyond the traditional way of doing business in the public sector and develop novel solutions to complex business operations.
