Deputy Director of Community Services – Library

City of St. Helena is seeking a Deputy Director of Community Services – Library. The Deputy Director is responsible for functions and operations of the Library Division, including planning, budgeting, staff selection and training, supervision, collection development, public services, programming, and information systems. The Deputy Director plans, organizes, coordinates, and directs the operations and activities of the Library Division, including technical services, reference and circulation services, and provides professional and technical assistance to the public. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the library field, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. This individual will think strategically and make sound decisions while effectively leading and managing change and addressing short-term challenges while maintaining a long-term vision. The Deputy Director will be comfortable with coordinating long range planning and community interaction as well as communicate resource needs to the Director of Community Services and City Manager to successfully deliver services to the community. The ideal candidate will promote staff development, foster a team environment through collaboration and respectful management and will support the City Council Goals.

Salary: $136,260 - $165,265
