County Executive - Innovative Justice & Program Analysis

Travis County is seeking a County Executive for the Department of Innovative Justice and Program Analysis. The County Executive serves as the primary liaison between Commissioners Court and internal and external organizations, entities, and jurisdictions in the criminal legal system and mental and behavioral health arena. The County Executive negotiates, develops, and monitors multi-million-dollar contracts, grants, and agreements for presentation to and approval of the Commissioners Court.

The County Executive oversees the planning, implementation, and performance evaluation of programs established and managed by Travis County or that are funded by Travis County, that impact the criminal legal system as it intersects with the mental and behavioral health needs of Travis County residents, including programs and services that divert or deflect residents from ever being involved in the criminal legal system by providing mental and behavioral health services in the community.

Appointed by the Commissioners Court, the County Executive – Department of Innovative Justice and Program Analysis (IJPA) oversees the following departments: Data, Research, and Planning Department, the Reentry Resources/Workforce Development Department, and the Travis County Counseling and Education Services Department, and operates as Direct Supervisor for these Department Heads. The County Executive – IJPA works collaboratively with other Travis County Executives to achieve the goals and objectives of the Commissioners Court. This position manages multiple departments through senior administrators to ensure the completion of their mission and objectives in compliance with multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets. Advises the Commissioners Court on matters pertaining to the criminal legal system and its intersection with mental and behavioral health programs, as well as data needs, research, and analysis of current and future programs. Works with other independently elected or appointed officials in the County, City, State, and community on matters pertaining to the criminal legal system and mental and behavioral health services available in the community.

Salary: 200,000 - 215,000
