The City of Arvada, CO is seeking a visionary City Manager to serve as their chief executive officer, responsible for implementing City Council priorities and leading our city’s opportunities and challenges with a strategic approach. As a visible and inspiring leader, the City Manager will guide our city’s executive team and represent Arvada to the public, fostering trust and collaboration.

Ideally, you’re a values-driven professional who believes in transparent, open communication and has a strong track record of leading cities through complex, rewarding transformations.
Ideal candidates will possess a master’s degree in public or business administration (or related field) and 10 years of progressively responsible public sector management experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles. Prior experience in executive leadership roles such as city or county manager, deputy or assistant city manager, or chief of staff in a large public sector organization or full-service city of similar size to Arvada (population 125,000 or more) is preferred. Ability to meet bonding requirements and hold a valid Colorado driver’s license, and residency in Arvada within six months of appointment, are required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the master’s degree.
