Transportation Manager

The City of Olathe is seeking a Transportation Manager. The Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing both transportation planning and engineering operations, as well as the maintenance of crucial city assets. This role involves supervising the design and inspection of traffic-related projects and managing staff assigned to development reviews, traffic studies, and transportation planning. The Transportation Manager will lead special engineering studies to assess project impacts and prepare technical reports. A key focus is ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems by collaborating with other departments, external agencies, and community stakeholders. The position also requires providing technical expertise on traffic safety, mobility improvements, and development projects, while leading efforts in traffic impact analysis, corridor studies, and transportation system modeling.
The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership and team management skills, with strong expertise in traffic signal systems, street lighting, and related infrastructure. They should excel in communication, organization, and building collaborative relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
