The City Engineer is the City's highest level engineering authority and will lead a department that delivers a variety of municipal construction projects to benefit the public. The City Engineer identifies creative solutions that will solve business problems, contain costs, and bring efficiency to the organization. Excellent leadership, communication and collaborative skills will be critical to the success of the next City Engineer. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who applies complex engineering principles to municipal public works projects while ensuring compliance with Arizona Revised Statute Title 34. They excel in team collaboration, resource negotiation, and adapting to industry changes, driving efficiency, innovation, and effective communication.
