The California State Assembly is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources leader with a generalist background and strong employee relations foundation, who enjoys solving complex problems in a political setting. Must possess the ability to remain flexible and calm, while providing expert guidance and advice in a fast-paced environment.
The Deputy Director of Human Resources will support the Human Resources Director in managing the day-to-day HR operations. This is a blended hands-on role: resolves employee relations matters, leads performance management efforts, reviews class and compensation issues, advises on benefits and leave administration, payroll, and workers’ compensation. Plays a key role in mentoring team members and providing HR assistance to Assemblymembers and legislative staff.
