Camrosa Water District is seeking a District Engineer. The District Engineer performs highly responsible and complex professional engineering work to safeguard and advance Camrosa’s water, wastewater, and infrastructure programs. As a key leader and senior technical resource, this individual provides critical engineering judgment to the Board of Directors, District staff, regulatory agencies, and the public on complex technical, operational, financial, and regulatory matters. The District Engineer is expected to think strategically and act independently, proactively identifying system needs, evaluating alternatives, and advancing projects aligned with District priorities. Beyond project execution, the District Engineer handles vital administrative duties, including preparing water resources and regulatory reports, drafting department budgets, and presenting to executive leadership. This role offers an experienced engineering professional the opportunity to lead high-impact capital projects, oversee consultants and contractors, and help shape the District’s long-term infrastructure and water-resource strategy.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, highly responsive professional with at least ten years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience, including proven project management ownership within the public works, water, or wastewater sectors. As a forward-thinking leader, the incoming District Engineer will thrive in an integrated environment where engineering and operations work closely together, with strong communication, teamwork, and mutual respect among operations, engineering, management, and administrative staff. A cornerstone of this role is the ability to seamlessly bridge technical design with practical execution. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise managing consultants and external engineering firms, paired with a strong background in design review and close, hands-on coordination with operations personnel. Driven by a dedicated customer-service focus, they will excel at translating complex technical issues into clear solutions for the community. Furthermore, the preferred candidate will bring a successful track record in master plan development and implementation, demonstrating the capacity to take high-level infrastructure blueprints and methodically transform them into operational realities.

Salary: $185,000 - $208,000
