Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Chief Ethics Officer. The Chief Ethics Officer is an ‘at-will’ position whose basic function is to plan and direct the overall implementation and execution of Metro’s Ethics Policy and Lobby Registration programs. This includes overseeing the operations of conflict of interest, code of conduct, ethics and lobby registration program functions. The Chief Ethics Officer develops strategies, establishes and implements policies and procedures to achieve departmental goals. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional and leader well-versed in governmental practices surrounding conflict of interest and ethics regulations, principles and practices. The successful candidate will be or become an expert in the policies and requirements related to Metro’s Lobby Registration Program, as required under Metro enabling statutes. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required to interact with elected officials, senior leadership, partner agencies and contractors, as well as the general public as necessary.
