Community Transit is searching for a Director of Planning and Development. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic, forward-thinking transportation planning leader to shape the future of a thriving transit agency that is engaged in a strategic growth program.  As a member of the Executive Team, the Director of Planning and Development directs, plans, organizes, and controls the agency’s planning and development programs; advises the Chief Executive Officer and Board on issues, policy, personnel actions and management practices; supervises managers and other directly reporting positions; directs the development of strategic and tactical planning and development for the agency services and facilities, and develops and monitors department budget and approves expenditures. The ideal candidate is an accomplished strategic leader with public transportation planning experience at a management level and a long-term pattern of progressively higher responsibilities and success in accomplishing goals and managing programs. The successful candidate will be adaptable, able to adjust to shifting priorities and pivot positively with changing circumstances.
