Flathead County is seeking a Library Director. ImagineIF is a participatory library that designs hands-on learning experiences for people of all ages. Under the direct supervision of the Library Board of Trustees, the Director of ImagineIF Libraries leads the organization, collaboratively developing and implementing the Library’s strategic vision and plan, and ensuring the fulfillment of the Library’s mission and future success.

The Library Director must walk a fine line between delivering programs, maintaining the budget, and neutrally addressing social and political influences on library services. A familiarity with capital project planning and delivery may be helpful as the Library seeks to build a permanent facility. The Director’s primary role will be to manage funds and match programs to the desires of the community while leading staff to achieve the Board’s strategic vision. Excellent people skills, communication skills, and especially the ability to simultaneously assess the needs of both library users and the County’s general population are necessary to develop a holistic suite of services that best meets the needs of the community.
