City of San Carlos is seeking an Assistant Community Development Director. The Assistant Director is a new position in the department and will oversee many of the day of the day activities of the department which will allow the Community Development Director to focus on more of the big picture management of the department. The Assistant Community Development Director should also be expected to oversee the activities and operations of the department in the absence of the Community Development Director. The Assistant Director will participate in developing department goals, managing and developing the department budget, assessing current processes and workloads, training, and motivating employees, and representing the department with other governments, community groups, or businesses. The Assistant Director will also oversee the development of department brochures, press releases and forms, and connect and respond to community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience and a proven track record in planning. Candidates who have experience in a jurisdiction of similar makeup and complexities will be favorably considered.
