The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is seeking a Director of Administrative Services. The Director of Administrative Services is directly responsible for RTC’s human resources function. Additionally, the Director manages agency functions including, information technology, safety and security, communications, government affairs, and general administration. The Director of Administrative Services reports to the Executive Director and oversees a department of 12 team members. The next Director will be a visionary administrator who can transform RTC Washoe for the next twenty years. This person will inherit a mature organization, stable operations, and expert staff. The next step is to identify, recommend, and transition to new, modern organizational models, management, communication and outreach practices. Developing a strategic plan for a talent pipeline and career paths is a primary responsibility of this position. This person will have a collaborative mindset and eschews ego. The Director will have past experience leading administrative functions of another government agency. While a background in human resources is important to this role, this is not the only function of the position, and a leader with a creative and adaptive mindset is desired.
