Central Valley Flood Protection Board (CVFPB) is accepting applications for their Executive Officer position.  The CVFPB is seeking a proven professional with extensive leadership and management skills, experienced in development, execution, and evaluation of major programs, policies, and staff development, to lead the staff. The candidate must maintain a climate that attracts, trains, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality people, and be innovative and results-driven with a track record of successful leadership of an organization.
The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
  • Ability to understand state, federal and local regulations, laws, rulemaking, and public policy in relation to flood management in the Central Valley.
  • Experience working with and taking direction from a Board of Directors.
  • Stay abreast of new and updated flood policy issues, laws, and natural resource challenges facing California.
  • Communicate and listen effectively with diverse groups of people, including elected officials, board members, state and federal agencies, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Retains high ethical standards, a good temperament, and be a person of exceptional character who naturally earns the confidence and trust of others.
  • Dependable, and exhibits a high level of initiative, tact, sound judgment, and adaptability.
  • Strategic thinker, capable of implementation through teamwork and collaboration.

Location: Sacramento, California
Salary: Monthly salary range: $14,087 - $15,975
