The City of Tucson is seeking a City Court Director. The City Court Director is the chief administrative officer of Tucson City Courts, responsible for leading and directing the non-judicial activities of City Courts. In consultation with the Presiding Magistrate, plans, organizes, and coordinates all programs, functions and activities of the City Courts to meet statutory and judicial support requirements. Provides operational leadership on an organization-wide and community basis to ensure that public services are provided in alignment with the City’s and Arizona Supreme Court’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be an experienced trial court professional who possesses a strong background in finance, strategic and project planning, and a track record of providing sound, thorough recommendations as well as results on a myriad of complex issues. An unflappable and forthright demeanor coupled with the ability to effectively communicate and gain the respect of a large and diverse organization will serve the candidate well. The ability to demonstrate a history of innovation and resourcefulness will be viewed favorably. The successful candidate will be collaborative in nature with the ability to coalesce multiple professional disciplines into an efficient and effective team. A high level of political acumen is a plus.
