Sr. IT Project Manager

Montgomery County Government is seeking two Sr. IT Project Managers.  Reporting to the Chief Enterprise Project Officer, the Senior Information Technology Project Manager will work within the framework defined by the EOPM and will be responsible for the planning and execution of County information technology projects through all phases of the project lifecycle. This will include developing and executing project plans, managing project budgets and schedules, defining roles, eliciting, and documenting project requirements, and managing vendor relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to identify and manage project risks and issues. The incumbent must possess excellent communication skills while managing stakeholder relations, providing timely updates of project progress, and clear direction and expectations to any project management staff. The ideal candidate will have a coaching mindset, serving as a subject matter expert to junior project managers, allowing them to develop their skills.

The following qualifications are required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Twelve (12) years of professional, hands-on experience in the information technology field as a project or program manager with five years (5) of leadership experience in a project matrix management environment.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required at the time of application.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted (there are no substitutions for the required PMP certification)

Salary: $106,704 - $167,884
