The San Mateo County Schools Insurance Group is searching for an Executive Director. At the discretion of the SMCSIG Executive Committee, the Executive Director oversees all strategic and management functions for SMCSIG including property and liability claims, Workers’ Compensation, pool financing, loss control, insurance underwriting and placement, strategic planning, and supervision of pool employees. A Bachelor’s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in risk management and risk financing, which includes five years of supervisory experience, is expected. A Master’s Degree and additional claims or risk management certifications such as ARM, CRM or CPCU are desirable. Experience in pooling, JPA’s or school district risk management; strategic planning and implementation and working with a Board of Directors is preferred.
