The San Joaquin River Conservancy (Conservancy), an agency within the State of California Resources Agency, is seeking a dynamic leader dedicated to public service and energized by hard-work to lead this agency to develop and manage the San Joaquin River Parkway. The agency is supported by a total staff of three, plus one full time staff member at the California Wildlife Conservation Board, and an operational budget of $702,000, plus millions of dollars in bond funds available for capital projects. Qualified candidates will: bring the ability to promote and effectively represent the public interests of the Conservancy’s mission, prepare budgets and have a working knowledge of public fiscal controls and public finance; exercise a high degree of sound judgment; possess excellent research, analytical, and writing skills and experience producing complex documents; bring the knowledge and ability to administer bid processes, knowledge of contract provisions and preparation, and ability to oversee contractors, service providers and work products; and, possess a working knowledge and/or experience in conservation, environmental regulation, planning, natural resources management, and related matters.
