Santa Barbara County, CA is seeking an Assistant Director of General Services – Capital Projects and Facilities Management. The Assistant Director is “at will” and reports directly to the Director of General Services. The incumbent has responsibility for the planning and implementation of multi-million dollar capital and maintenance projects for the County of Santa Barbara and managing facility maintenance operations for over 400 County buildings. The Assistant Director manages functions associated with facilities planning and construction, deferred maintenance programs and projects, facility maintenance and operations, and development of related funding strategies and requests. The Assistant Director is responsible for formulating and administering County policy associated with each function and providing contract administration and support to the department. Activities include, but are not limited to planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling personnel and resources. Furthermore, the Assistant Director is part of the Department’s Executive Team and will be part of both department and countywide strategic initiatives.
