The City of Banning, CA is seeking a Director of Administrative Services. The Director of Administrative Services functions as the City’s Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for overall leadership and management of the Administrative Services Department. The Director plans, organizes, directs and administers all the City’s financial operations, including purchasing, payroll, accounting, business licensing, financial reporting, grant and contract reporting and compliance, assessment district administration, debt management, revenue monitoring, budget development, capital project financial monitoring and investments, internal controls, treasury functions, City Clerk functions, City’s information systems, utility billing operations, and Human Resources/ Risk Management. The Director serves as a resource to the City Manager, City Council, other governmental agencies and the general public. This position has five direct reports with an overall professional staff of 23. The ideal candidate will be innovative, solutions-oriented and a collaborative leader. The qualified Director will have the desire and confidence to work with new City leadership in a highly visible role to carry out the mission, vision and needs of the City. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to work well with staff, executive management and other key stakeholders to implement positive outcomes. This position will require flexibility, a willingness to exchange and encourage new ideas, and the ability to build consensus while helping to move the City in an exciting new and prosperous direction.
