The City of Bakersfield is searching for a Development Services Director. Reporting to the City Manager, the Development Services Director oversees all activities of the department. Divisions within the Development Services Department include Planning Building and the recently recreated Economic & Community Development Division. The ideal candidate is an accomplished strategic leader and creative problem solver who can see the big picture and possesses an unwavering commitment to public service, their employees, colleagues and organization, and community. The ideal candidate will encourage and foster collaboration within Development Services, with other City departments, the County of Kern, the media, community groups, and private developers and will demonstrate a track record of building a well-integrated and functioning team.
