Sierra County, CA is seeking a Chief Deputy Auditor (Controller). The County is seeking a resourceful, hands-on controller/audit professional to join the dedicated staff of this small, rural mountain community. This is an exceptional opportunity for an outdoors enthusiast who desires a community that is nationally renowned for its mountain biking, hiking and fishing, and has interest in the possibility of holding a County elected role in the future. Reporting to the Auditor-Treasurer-Tax Collector (Auditor), the Chief Deputy provides day to day management over all Auditor and all Controller functions of the County including but not limited to: a variety of Countywide accounting and financial support functions, day to day oversight of staff, management functions such as developing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring overall service effectiveness of the Auditor’s Office. The Chief Deputy also assumes the Auditor’s duties in his absence. This position is multi-faceted and provides the incumbent the opportunity to be challenged and highly valued for their contributions.
